ClayCult is a Social Enterprise in Siem Reap, Cambodia, providing sustainable, long term employment in a safe work environment and offering education and training to their staff. ClayCult produces beautiful hand-made jewelry (necklaces, bracelets and earrings) made from clay beads.
The beauty of their products immediately catches they eye with the slider at the top of the Home Page. Apart from an introductory text, there are direct links to the respective product categories. At the bottom, there is a section called “Recently Viewed” and that’s exactly what it is: which products the last visitor to the site was viewing, is displayed here. (All on screenshot 1)
When hovering over a product thumbnail, the element enlarges revealing a link to directly add the product to the cart, have a quick view, see all the details of the product, or share it on social networks (screenshot 2). In the left sidebar are options to filter the products: by category, style, color or length.
Quick View means that the product details pop up in a so-called lightbox (screenshot 3), with the enlarged picture, product details and again a link to directly add the product to the cart. Also, related product thumbnails are shown beneath the main image, as they are on the product details page.
As tourists sometimes have difficulty finding the location of ClayCult the website needed a map with the exact location. On the Contact Page there’s also a so-called ‘widget’ automatically getting the latest reviews from their TripAdvisor page (screenshot 4).
The website is integrated with the online payment system provided by Cathay United Bank, so credit card payments are smoothly processed (screenshot 5). Please read more about online payments in Cambodia and why we – at the moment – recommend Cathay United Bank’s system.
As with all our current web designs, the ClayCult website is optimized for mobiles (screenshot 6).
Furthermore, the website includes links to ClayCult’s social profiles (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and YouTube), fully automated emails to online customers, a so-called mega-menu to easily find your way around the site, and a cart ‘tab’ present on every page to easily see or get to the shopping cart contents.
