Aura Hostel | Phnom Penh

Aura Hostel is a thematic hostel in the heart of Phnom Penh (just behind the Royal Palace), which opened at the end of May 2015.

The front page consists of a grid with pictures of the rooms that all have their own icon, in sync with the room theme. It also displays the number of single and/or double beds available. The grid nicely adjusts to screen size, so is also easily viewable on e.g. smart phones.

The room pages have an image gallery with one large image on top and the other pictures in the gallery beneath it, plus a description and an overview of services and amenities.

Rooms pages load via AJAX, i.e. when selecting another room the content changes without refreshing the page. Yet, the link in the address bar is updated, as is the selected room in the sidebar.

Furthermore the website contains a custom icon font to display icons on the ‘Amenities’ page, an Event Calendar, an automatically updated feed of pictures on Instagram, a testimonials widget, and a location map.

We also integrated the (external) Octorate booking system. The booking form pops up over the current page.

As with all our current web designs, the AURA hostel website is fully optimized for mobiles.
