Epic Arts is based in the lovely town of Kampot in southern Cambodia and uses the arts as a powerful tool for transformation that explores and celebrates the richness of diversity through creative experiences. They work with people of all abilities and backgrounds through Inclusive Education, Community and Social Enterprise Programs to encourage a change in perceptions and attitudes at both a personal, and public level. Epic Arts promotes the message that every person counts.
CamboDesign made a complete overhaul of their existing website, which was static, outdated, obsolete and difficult to navigate on mobile devices. As Epic Arts wanted the website to reflect how active they are, we started from scratch to develop a vibrant website.
The Home Page is quite large, yet not overwhelming with (from the top) a big slider with images of Epic Arts participants, a short introduction to the three main programs with underneath a so-called ‘carousel‘ with images and links to those programs, a section with animated figures (screenshot 1), and the latest news, video and tweets.
Thankfully, Epic Arts had a large library of pictures from programs, tours and performances to include on the website. E.g. the Epic Encounters page includes a grid gallery of their performances (screenshot 2), linking to a description and another gallery of that particular performance. Furthermore, a visitor can contact them to book a performance or download the booking form.
On the page for the Epic Arts Cafe, besides a description and pictures, there’s a section with sliding testimonials, taken from TripAdvisor (screenshot 3)
Almost all pictures of students, participants, tours and performances can be opened in a so-called ‘lightbox’ (screenshot 4). The ‘History’ page is quite minimalist, but clearly showcases the development of Epic Arts from their humble beginnings in a so-called ‘timeline’ (screenshot 5).
Furthermore, the website is integrated with the online donations program Global Giving (screenshot 6). As with all our current web designs, the Epic Arts website automatically adjusts to screen sizes and is optimized for mobiles (screenshot 7).
